Island Ecological Contractors specialise in ecological mitigation works.
These include:
• Newt
Fencing -
Installing small animal exclusion fencing systems to restrict the movement
of newts (or other protected species) from one area to another.
Particularly useful during stages of site construction.
• Otter Fencing
-
Designed and constructed by ourselves, a cranked-top galvanised weldmesh
fence to restrict the movement of otters from one area to another.
Gates can also be incorporated into the fencing for human access.
• Lake and Pond Creation -
From the establishment of a small temporary holding pond for newts right
through to larger lakes for the permanent residence of protected species.
We have also built fishing pools for various clients.
Lake or pond improvement works are also undertaken, such as
de-silting, vegetation control and re-shaping.
• Hibernacular Construction -
Design and construction of permanent newt habitat, usually using materials
found locally to the site. The size
and shape of the hibernacular will be determined by the nature of the
project.
• Bird and Bat Box Design and Installation -
Our team will design, build, supply and install boxes to suit a wide
variety of uses. From simple
birdhouses right through to electrically heated bat boxes.
Our in-house electrician can handle all of the electrical supply
and connection requirements for the heated models.
Island Ecological Contractors also offer the following additional
services:
• Fencing and Gates -
The supply and installation of a wide range of styles of fencing and
gates. This includes both stock
fencing and garden fencing.
• Garden Maintenance -
All aspects of day-to-day garden maintenance activities are undertaken.
